The former governor of Katanga province, Moïse Katumbi Chapwe, affirmed his willingness to work for his country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, but without being in the next government. He will not work “especially not in the current government,” he said during a press briefing on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in his private residence in Lubumbashi. The coordinator of the Lamuka coalition is fully engaged in what he calls the Republican opposition to push Felix Tshisekedi and his followers to do better. For him, the most important remains the well-being of the Congolese population.

GEN CELESTIN MBALA REAPPOINTED CONGO’S ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF
After appointing a prime minister, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi Tshilombo, has once again signed a series of orders, read yesterday in the evening of Tuesday, May 21, 2019, the Congolese National Radio and Television. He has, succinctly, appointed a Chief for his military mission; he appointed a military adviser to his cabinet and appointed Monsignor Gerard Mulumba to the post of the head of the civil house. Lt Gen Celestin Mbala reappointed Congo’s army chief by the president Tshisekedi,he has held this position since July 2018.

Syvestre Ilunga Ilukamba is appointed Prime Minister of DR Congo
Dr. Syvestre Ilunga Ilukamba has been appointed Prime Minister by Ord. n 19/056. This former Director General of the National Society of Railways of the Congo (SNCC SA) will lead the new Government, whose structure is being developed. The Prime Minister will therefore act as a responsible “politician”, informed of his power, firm in his decisions, moderate in his approach and aware of his limitations.

Regular Meetings between Félix Tshisekedi and Joseph Kabila
By an obligation to maintain the DRC in all its diversity, more generally, regular meetings between the two men will impose a change of substance to build the base of the new contract of the Nation. As the country is at a historic turning point in its destiny, supreme solutions will have to emerge from the ground where it is expected to review the way in which the state continues to organise itself.

PRESIDENT FELIX TSHISEKEDI TO APPOINT PRIME MINISTER
The appointment of the next Prime Minister and all members of the Government is just a matter of a few days. This was announced Tuesday, April 23, by the Head of State, Felix Tshisekedi, in Kisangani, capital of the province of Tshopo, where he was staying as part of his tour in the Congo interior. However, in front of the multitude of boyomaises and boyomais who listened to him at the Place de la Poste where he mad his address.
