Going all through it.
This March 8, International Women's Day, the FARC-EP wish greet and hug with great affection to all Colombian women.
To our guerilla, militia, compatriots and friends, tireless fighters and social trans-formative, who in all fields are building a dream home.
The housewives, independent women, to professionals, students, the workers and employees, the unemployed, the artists and intellectuals, peasant, Afro-Colombian, indigenous, women workers informal sex workers, grandmothers, mothers, girls, which adopted their own way of life.
To the millions of women who struggle in multiple spaces and trenches in fields and cities, by building a new country for generations to come.
We want this March 8, at the gates of a final peace agreement is the
space for personal and collective reflection on the role that we play
and women should play in the construction of a New Colombia.
Women have played a historic role in the ongoing process of reconciliation. The huge female mobilizing force made possible the creation of the subcommittee on gender in the talks, a fact never before seen in the world. It could not be otherwise, since 40 percent of our force is composed of women who have played it all for a better future for our nation, working shoulder to shoulder with his comrades.
The FARC-EP we are proud to have made own agendas built by different organizations of Colombian women. We attended their stories, opinions, criticisms and proposals before drawing up our proposed minimum. Thanks to them, the peace process has taken a gender perspective that will mean an important starting point for building a society without discrimination or gender violence or otherwise.
We must insist and deepen the rejection and denunciation to any type of sexual or gender-based violence, whether in the context of conflict or outside it. The FARC-EP condemn violence against women and solidarity with the victims of this scourge. We are outraged by the growing number of murders and intimidation against women leaders of social organizations by the paramilitary groups, such as the recent public threat from the Black Eagles, further reinforced by state and media indifference. She reveals the intransigence of the enemies of peace against a successful proposal for social transformation fuelled by women.
We note with joy and optimism the advancement of women torrent. We work because the signing of the final agreement is the beginning of a country free of male violence and discrimination based on gender, sex, ethnicity or race. Because this agreement means a real recognition of the rights of women as political subject, to achieve their conscious and massive political participation and strengthening its leadership in all areas of struggle and change. Without the participation of women will not be peace and social transformation.
