Art as a Tool for Resistance

I started off these artistic illustrations as an experiment some years ago-the purpose was to develop my drawing skills. At the time it was all about self discovery and transferring the acquired skills into something else.

One could say that I was trying to get rid of a militant ghost that was playing with my mind. There was so much suffering and deaths in Eastern Congo and Northern Uganda at the hands of Uganda dictator Yoweri Museveni and Rwanda dictator Paul Kagame.

All democratic processes had failed and thousands of innocent people were being picked up and detained in illegal detentions. The regime and its imperialist friends in the west, distorted the narrative and created a canon fodder in the name of Joseph Kony and the Lords Resistance Army to cover-p the atrocities of the Uganda regime. Up to this day, there's no evidence of mass killings by the Lords Resistance Army as is the case with Yoweri Museveni's army, the NRA turned UPDF.

The culture of political expression such as free speech and freedom of assembly were seen as subversive by the Uganda regime.
The will to pick up arms and overthrow the Uganda oppressive regime became a necessity.
The regime in Uganda has been worse- ten times over than, that of Idi Amin, as it has killed more people around the African continent.

It was a conspiracy by powerful regimes to turn Uganda, Rwanda and Congo into killing fields. To this day over Six million Congolese have died and no justice has been served. While almost a Million innocent lives have been lost in Northern Uganda. We all know what happened in Rwanda(see BBC's untold story)

To this day, the killers of all those innocent people are seated in Uganda and Rwanda. In spite of documented evidences and testimonies, the killers of our people continue to be treated as celebrities in western capitals.

The journey through a man made injustice, has even made me more determined to use art as a tool for healing and resistance.

Art is not only about Decoration, but can also be used as a tool for resistance, changing and transforming society for the better. However, criminal governments tend to spend fortunes to kill resistance art. most of my work has been brought down by mainstream search engines-this also exposes those dark forces involved in the deaths of innocent Africans.

Hopefully the drums for justice will continue to sound even louder.

No one should kill innocent people and expect to get away with it. We shall Never Forget all the victims!!
